Dear Colleague
 
It gives us great pleasure to invite you to attend the participate in the inaugural meeting of the British Society for Gynaecological Imaging (BSGI) held at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London.
 
The meeting is open to specialists and trainees, nurses, radiographers, radiologists, physicists, midwives and other allied health care professionals with an interest in gynaecological imaging.
 
We have put together an exicitng scientific programme lokking at the various modalities used in gynaecological imaging including ultrasound, MRI and CT.
 
The meeting will focus upon imporving practical skills in imaging through high qulaity workshops.
 
There will be an extensive trainers workshop and the opportunity to become a BSGI accredited trainer in gynaecological ultrasound.
 
We look forward to seening you in London.

Saturday February 9th
Trainees and preceptors workshop

09.00 Overview and objectives of the workshop
        The different stations and their role in developing
        the necessary skills will be explained
 
09.15 Delegates will be divided into groups and will take 
         part in all stations on a 30 minute rotational basis.
         Preceptors will apply their training skills during the 
         workshop in conjunction with faculty
 
The stations include;
  • Image optimisation skills
  • How to do an abdominal scan
  • How to do a transvaginal scan
  • Real-time practice of transvaginal scanning technique. Trainees will develop their scanning, eye-hand coordination and measurement skills on ultrasound mannequins
  • CT/MR images and case reviews
  • Ultrasound images and short video clips of a selection of normal and abnormal early pregnancy and gynaecological pathologies with description of specific morphological features
  • Practical skills stations will run in duplicates depending on the number of delegates to ensure effective small group teaching
