Sponsorship of BSGI activities

Industry has been very supportive to the British Society for Gynaecological Imaging. In order to create transparent and equitable Corporate Patronage arrangements, the BSGI Committee proposes the following sponsorship guidance and arrangements.

General Principles

• The BSGI is a registered charity
• The BSGI is a multi-disciplinary forum for its membership
• The Society encourages membership from all groups that work in the field of obstetric and gynaecological imaging and endeavours to maintain low membership fees and low registration costs for meetings
• The Society is developing a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) scheme for its members to meet the forthcoming statutory regulations. The scheme will include, at least in part, web-based access to educational material with on-line assessments that will enable participants to accumulate credits during their CPD cycle
• The Society normally hosts its annual scientific meeting (ASM) in March or April of each year. The content of the meetings is developed by the BSGI Committee. The Society also organises Masterclass workshops in conjunction with the ASM and/or locally in the UK Deanaries.
• The Society is extremely grateful to its sponsors for their continued support. The educational grants would have significant tax benefits to those providing the grants
• No advertising or direct promotion will be allowed anywhere on the BSGI Website
• Links will only be placed on the BSGI website following explicit approval of the executive committee and, where appropriate, with approval of the other party

Objectives of sponsorship

The Educational Grants will on the whole support the general educational goals of the Society, which include academic/educational activities such as supporting training, the production of relevant publications, public relations, the maintenance of a web site, and communication with other professional bodies and Societies.

Sponsorship of prizes, awards and travel grants is welcomed and will be acknowledged separately. These awards will be given profile both in the meetings' programmes, at the annual society dinner and also in BSGI Newsletters. These prizes and awards are separate to any sponsorship agreement.

There are three levels of sponsorship available for commercial companies

• Principal Sponsorship
• Corporate Membership
• Exhibitors and providers of training equipment at Society’s meetings
