Specialists

Welcome to the Specialists' page

The BSGI is a multidisciplinary and multiprofessional society where obstetricians and gynaecologists as well as radiologists are welcomed as members. Our aim is promote knowledge, research, and excellence in service delivery. Equally importantly, we would like to encourage interdisciplinary and interprofessional team working among those in the field.

The Society's membership is predominantly made of obstetricians and gynaecologists with smaller numbers of radiologists, nurses, midwives and physicists. We would like to encourage more colleagues from all disciplines and professions with an interest in obstetric and gynaecological imaging to join the society and benefit from attendance at the annual scientific meetings, contribute to its hands-on workshops, and take part in its evolving continued professional programme.

With the imminent start of the revalidation process in late 2012, licensed doctors will be required to demonstrate to the GMC that they remain up to date and fit to practise in order to retain their licence. This will involve providing supporting information to show that they are practising in accordance with relevant professional standards. The BSGI offers the perfect opportunity for licensed doctors to provide such evidence.

No doubt the Society will keep you informed of all developments and I look forward to hearing your comments.
